Privacy Policy

Kitstead Labs is an independent software studio operated by Chen Bo You (English romanization), an individual based in Taiwan. This policy describes the Kitstead Labs website at kitsteadlabs.com. Linked services and product applications have their own privacy practices.

Website visits and hosting

The site provides product information and engineering guides. It has no visitor accounts, contact forms or embedded checkout. Its styles and images are served from this site, using your device's fonts.

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. Serving and protecting it involves processing technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information and request times. Cloudflare may also process network-error reports. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for its handling of service and network data.

Analytics and current cookie use

The live site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and page performance. Its browser beacon sends usage and timing information to Cloudflare. This is separate from advertising. Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as not tracking individual visitors across sites; see its data collection explanation.

The website's own page code does not set cookies or use browser storage. No cookies were observed in our current browsing checks. Cloudflare security features may use cookies when required, so this is not a guarantee that every visit is cookie-free. See Cloudflare's cookie information. You can review, block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Email, purchases and other links

If you email us, we receive your email address and the message and attachments you send, and use them to respond and provide support. Messages addressed to our contact email are forwarded using Cloudflare Email Routing and stored and handled in Google Gmail. Please avoid sending confidential process data or unnecessary personal information.

Purchase links take you to Lemon Squeezy's hosted checkout, where payment and order information is handled under Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy. This website does not collect card details. Order information available to us is kept in the Lemon Squeezy dashboard, and order-related emails are also stored in our Gmail mailbox. We use these records for order administration, product delivery, customer support, refunds and applicable legal obligations. Opening PlatingMate or another external link takes you to a separate service; its privacy practices apply there.

Data retention

We normally retain general enquiry correspondence for up to two years after the last communication. Customer support and defect-report correspondence is normally retained for up to five years after the case is closed or the last substantive support interaction, whichever is later. Active cases may be retained while resolution remains necessary and are reviewed periodically.

Purchase, payment, refund and related records, including order-related emails in Gmail, are retained as needed for delivery, support, disputes and applicable accounting, tax, contractual or other legal obligations. We manage the email copies in our mailbox; records held within Lemon Squeezy are also subject to that provider's retention and deletion procedures. We may retain technical issue summaries for longer-term product improvement only after removing identifying information and confidential customer material.

Records may be retained longer where necessary to resolve disputes or comply with applicable law. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it where we control it. Backup copies and third-party service providers may follow their own retention and deletion cycles.

Potential future advertising

Google AdSense advertising is not currently active on this site. We are preparing for site review. The ads.txt listing does not load ads or set cookies.

If Google advertising is enabled in the future, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to personalize ads using those visits. Other participating advertising vendors may also use cookies or similar technologies.

You can opt out of Google's personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Some other vendors offer choices through YourAdChoices. These choices do not necessarily stop all advertising or all data processing. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Before activating advertising, we will review the actual vendors, update this notice as needed and implement applicable consent choices. This future-use explanation does not itself request or record your consent.
